Triple Threat Dojo is proudly affiliated with WKU K1 SA, an organisation dedicated to the growth and development of K1-style kickboxing in South Africa. Recently, the team attended the annual K1 Awards evening held in Pretoria—an event that marked a defining moment in the dojo’s journey.

Triple Threat Dojo received an impressive 10 nominations across various categories and concluded the evening with five major awards, an achievement that reflects the consistent hard work and commitment of both coaches and athletes.

Wade Rendall had an outstanding night, taking home Coach of the Year as well as Promoter of the Year. These awards recognise his leadership, technical expertise, and ongoing contribution to the sport.

In the athlete categories, Brett Heslop earned Fight of the Year, highlighting one of the standout performances on the K1 calendar. Ntokozo Khoza was recognised as Up and Coming Fighter, a testament to his rapid progress and potential within the division.

The evening’s highest honour went to Triple Threat Dojo, which was awarded Gym of the Year, acknowledging the collective effort, results, and standards upheld by the team throughout the season.

In addition to the wins, the following fighters were also nominated, reflecting the depth of talent within the dojo:

  • Jagger Nemeth

  • Rachelle Seyfferdt

  • Bianca Pretorius

  • JD Moolman

  • Thando Mahlangu

  • Chloe Assad

What makes this achievement even more significant is that Triple Threat Dojo only transitioned fully into K1 at the beginning of 2025. In a short space of time, the gym has established itself as a leading force in the sport, making this past year one of the most memorable and rewarding chapters in its history.
