Triple Threat Dojo proudly had four fighters representing South Africa at the WKU World Championships in 2025—a significant achievement for the gym and a clear reflection of the level at which its athletes are now competing.

JD Moolman, known as “Flash”, delivered one of the strongest performances of his career. After an exceptional display in the early rounds, he narrowly lost by split decision in the quarter-finals to the eventual champion of the division—an outcome that underlined both his progress and his ability to compete at world level.

Brett Heslop, “Captain Hook”, faced a highly experienced professional fighter in his quarter-final bout. Despite the result, Brett showed immense heart, resilience, and composure against elite opposition, earning respect with his performance on the international stage.

Thando Mahlangu, “Biggie”, demonstrated excellent technical skill and ring control in his quarter-final victory. He went on to contest a tough semi-final, where he was edged out, concluding a strong and confident showing at the championships.

Chloe Assad, known as “Gypsy Beast”, delivered one of the standout performances of the tournament. She secured her quarter-final win with ease and battled through a hard-fought semi-final to reach the final. Although she ultimately lost to a professional fighter, Chloe pushed relentlessly until the final bell, earning recognition for her determination, toughness, and world-class performance.

Representing South Africa on the world stage is no small achievement, and all four fighters demonstrated the discipline, skill, and mindset required at international level. Their performances at the 2025 WKU World Championships mark another proud chapter for Triple Threat Dojo and set a strong foundation for what lies ahead.
